The world champion 6th man is on the block after all these years. He's been an all-star, a 6th man of the year, the GM's Choice 6th man of the year and a dunk contest winner. I love love love Matthew but the cap is starting to get a little tight in Utah. I've been playing around with different gameplans and trying out different players so Owens hasn't been as much of a focus this year, but his actual attributes are identical to last year.
Season after season Owens has been one of the league's most dominant scoring forces. He's the king of the bench mob, combining overwhelming athleticism along with actual skill in the post to create a PPG machine. He's been a key piece on a Utah squad that's 300-56 so in the 5 seasons where he's played big minutes. He is in the last year of his 7.2m contract but can be extended with TBD.
I'm exploring any options that would result in less than 8.5m committed salary next year, whether it be assets or players. I'm particularly interested in a defensive/shot blocking PF.
