Hey everyone, full disclosure: I have no clue which direction I will be headed this offseason. This team isn't winning me a championship, but I've enjoyed picking up 60+ wins each of the last two seasons and building up those coaching points. That being said, I have all of my picks moving forward and a solid young center in Walton Brown to build around. With the "real draft" coming up next year and only $28m currently on the books for next season, I may end up making Diving Down (the standings) for Doncic or Achin' for Ayton. As I said, I haven't really decided yet. One way you all can help me decide is making it worthwhile for me to move on from Pat Joseph, Jordan Bell, Dalton Porter, and Timmy Frederick. So hit me up with offers and ideas, and let's work through something things together!
Pat Joseph Profile: An aging player who doesn't quite have the quickness he once possessed, Pat Joseph is admittedly on the decline. But ideally for all of us, he only has one year remaining on his contract and at only $10m. We're talking about a blue-blue caliber center at one of the weakest positions in the league who is available for what may be his final effective year for $10m. If you're a contender or someone looking to move into contending status by adding one of the best bang-for-your-buck big men in the league, this is your guy. Return: A first, a good prospect, or a decent prospect and tbd
Jordan Bell Profile: Bell's rookie contract (which got tbd extended by a year) just finally ended. This incredibly effective defensive specialist feels like he's been around the league forever. But he's still only 28 and with very limited miles on those legs. Sure, he's not going to carry the load for you offensively, but he's not going to hurt you on that end either as evidenced by his .579 career TS% and 1.38 PPS. Again though, his value ultimately lies in his rebounding and defense. While the html admittedly doesn't have him quite as high, my program has him as an A-/A psd to go along with his A/A blk. Locked in for the next three years at an incredibly discounted price of $7m per year, this is another player that contending teams ought to covet. At that price, you could even justify him being a high level backup if you're not in a position to start him. Return: A decent first or good prospect
Dragan Bender Profile: The RBSL Swiss Army knife is coming off yet another extremely effective year. After his reputation may have gotten a bit tarnished by being arguably overpaid the last couple years, Bender just agreed this season to an extremely reasonable 3 year, $3.3m per year contract extension. He can literally play any position and is the definition of a super-sub. Because of the kind of value he possesses at so cheap, he will likely be the last player I move, if I move him at all. Basically, if I decide to compete again next year, I very much want him on my team. But until then, if you value him as much as me, blow me away with an offer and I'll move on from him. Return: A first, a good prospect, or a decent prospect and tbd
Walton Brown and all my picks Explanation: I'm far less motivated to move any of these assets, but I will just list them here to show that nothing on my team is untouchable. Blow me away with an offer for one of the league's best young centers entering his prime. Brown is perfect for the team just getting ready to compete. On the other hand, if you aren't quite ready to compete and have an affordable youngish star (or soon to be star), my picks are always available for the right guy.
If you made it all the way through this, I appreciate your time and consideration! Looking forward to hearing from you and good luck this offseason.
