Title: Hard Cap Rules Updated
Post by: ClippersGM on November 18, 2010, 09:30:33 PM
2035 Hard cap is $90 million.
2036 Hard cap is $88 million.
2037 Hard cap is $86 million.
2038 Hard cap is $84 million.
2039 Hard cap is $82 million
2040 and beyond, Hard cap will be $80 million.

Rules of the hardcap:
- You may be over the cap in between sims or the offseason. But if you are over the cap while a game is simmed, that is when you are hit with the penalty.
- Penalty: you will lose your team's leading scorer from the previous season. Whoever had the most PPG last season, whether playing for you or acquired later during a trade. He will be placed on waivers. The team who claims the individual off waivers must pay the full contract amount owed to the player; the team who loses the player pays no salary.
- Waiver priority will depend on time of the season. If in the first month of the season, it will go in ascending order of the worst team of the previous season to the best. After the first month, it will be ascending order of the worst team of that current season to the best.
- Remember when you cut players, their salary is kept on your roster after you waive them, in addition to the players you sign during the season to the minimum.

1. Once a hard cap violation has been identified, the commish will post a complete waiver list order and a time limit (i.e., 48 hours)
2. Any team who wants Player X should put a claim in to the commish via PM
3. At the end of the 48 hours, the commish looks at all of the teams who put in a claim and Player X gets assigned to the team who's highest on the priority rank.
4. If nobody claims Player X, then repeat steps 1-3 with Player Y (next highest scorer).
5. Should the violating team trade their way out of the hard cap violation prior to ANY claim for the player in question, the trade will be procesed and waiver process ended - the commish will simply look for time stamps of the trade being accepted trades and the waiver claim and process the transaction accordingly

- players claimed off waivers have no trade restrictions

- you cannot claim someone off waivers if his salary will put you over the hard cap
