Looking for some new, active, excited blood for the league. There are a few GMs who probably wouldnt notice if I replaced them.

Hey Morty, is your work buddy (RBA Nets) already in this league? I bet he'd like RBSL even more than he likes RBA - and would be a good addition.

Thats the tricky part - not many people would "love" a league filled with make believe players.

For many though, the enjoyable part is the GM's, not the players themselves.

i agree that many people are attracted to a league more based on seeing real names there.  In other words they come for the names, they stay for the gms and activity level.

what if we added real names by doing the following:

after a players rookie contract is up (or perhaps at a certain age) he is eligable to have his name changed to a current NBA player's name

the GM who owns the player would apply to the commish (or a small committee) to have the players name changed, but the catch is that the player must have ratings and/or numbers that are similar to the player that they want to change names to.

so for example:

Hornets could apply to change Alexis Kamens to Kobe Bryant

Sure the age, height and weight wouldnt match, and it would mess up historic stats, but if its necessary to recruit new GMs perhaps it would be worth it...

I personally really dont like the idea of players changing their names, especially into their careers. It would be too easy to lose track of people. I dont mind the fake names myself. How else could we have such an appreciation for basketball giants like Nick Fuller and Bill McCutchan? hehe

I honestly think, with the amount of different leagues some of the GMs here are in, it shouldnt be that hard to find one guy here and there.

I agree with Nick, name changes shouldn't be necessary. I'm sure we can find someone who can appreciate how fantastic this league is with mostly fake players.

I agree as well, "fake" players are awesome, I feel that I take ownership of the guys on my roster even though there not real.

The NetsGM from the RBA said he was interested in joining this league. He wanted to know what teams were available.
