As a Cavs fan this is the biggest signing in some time (Yes, that's incredibly sad).

Still, 6m guaranteed for a guy who's an all-star if he's healthy, with a club option for a second year? No downside!

If healthy this team could be really fun to watch. Gave Kyrie a legit player in the post to spread the floor.

I wonder what his time table for return is. Man the 76ers got hosed on that trade.

what a stupid signing. Roster is so unbalanced and the young bigs won't be happy to sit on the bench if everyone is healthy.

Why is signing a potential all star for 6m a bad signing?

Only Zeller plays the 5 anyways. TT played there some with Varejao out but he's not a center.

he is paid 6m in the second year. first is 12mill if healthy. Add Varejao to the mix who will play 30+ mins if healthy and you have a crowded backcourt. Cavs invested a first pick in a PF and still have no real SG or SF. Even if bynum will be healthy cavs won't be better than a 6 seed in the east. Next years draft could have net them a real good player and cap space. considering that bynum is always been a problem kid I don't like the signing at all.

He gets paid 12 in both if he hits all his targets - and if he does, I'm happy to pay him that.

Varejao's going to get traded if Bynum is healthy, obviously, probably for a true SF. SG is fine.

It's not as though they passed on a potential all star SF to sign Bynum. It was Bynum or nothing.

I'm missing your logic. The Cavs have a pretty nice player in Andy and besides that the rest of them are role players. Zeller is not the Zeller of RBSL, he's like 3 - 4 years away from being a starter if he ever makes it to that level. I don't see how this isn't a good signing. Worse case you're back to where you were last season and you have another lottery pick in a loaded draft. Best case you end up with an All-Star center who compliments Irving nicely and you make a run at LBJ the next offseason.

It's a club option for the second year.

We have no one not on a rookie deal past this year except for Jarrett Jack and Varejao (who could easily be traded).

Even if Bynum stays next year we easily have the cap space for a max deal...

Does anybody honestly think that LeBron will return to Cleveland?  Seriously, there is no chance.  Should we re-hash that Dan Gilbert letter when LeBron left for Miami.  'Twas a nasty breakup.  The dude isn't coming back.  Ever.  Kyrie, capsace and a better team isn't going to change anything.

he ws the one who told the press he could imagine playing there again. And miami has a roster full of aging players. Cavs, lakers could be interesting options for him next offseason.

For me the biggest factor in Miami is and will remain Pat Riley. As long as he's there you know he's not going to put together some haphazard squad. If he retires, then I'd wager LeBron leaves. One of the beat writers down there did an interview with Bosh and LeBron awhile back asking them what the biggest differences between the Heat and their previous teams, and that was the real family atmosphere that Micky Arison and Riley stride to provide it definitely shows, San Antonio does a really good job with this as well and Micky has model alot parts of the organization after them. We'll see what happens they've got a good thing going but that repeater luxury tax is pretty painful and unless they get an improved TV deal its going to be tough.

He's not going to the Lakers. Let's be real here the Lakers are in heaps of shit right now and if Kobe resigns they have next to zero cap room and do you really think he's going to go to LA to put up with Kobe's bs?
