Alright, so, going forward, this is going to be weekly on Wednesdays starting at around 8 EST. We really loved the guys that were in the chat asking questions on the fly, so if people are free, that would be great. We can even have people call in and ask questions (hit me up beforehand and we'll get it set up).

Also, I've had a few people ask about TBD. Personally, I'd like to give out some TBD for this, as it's adding a lot of content, just like articles do, and it takes time, too. Just wanted to get a pulse of the group before I started awarding myself TBD for shit - that's awkward. My view is this is no different from articles and should be rewarded similarly.

As an added bonus, I also want everyone who is in the chat room participating during this to receive TBD also. Things like this where everyone interacts are great for the league and should be rewarded.

I'm not gonna lie, you guys took it easy on me with that trade analysis. If I was part of the podcast I would have been harder on myself. I told Steve that most likely I lost that deal. I had a few decent offers but nothing that got me what I wanted: alot of youth, a pick, and cap room. I got that with this deal. Odds are if I waited until after FA, I could have got more, but I'm impatient. That's no excuse, just who I am lol

I love Walsh. He reminds me of Conner Wu. Sure he's only got a 16ppg average, but he hasn't been a top 1 or 2 option and I think he's capable of 20ppg, honestly I do. I like Shelton. He might end up being shit but I liked him in the draft and still think he could be a solid player. McDyess will start for me at SG and I bet he surprises a few people. He's got great shooting numbers and solid defense and is an expiring ontop of that. Erving is also solid and I've had inquiries about him already. He can play and score in bunches if given the chance. He also shoots great numbers.

Lou was right about an obsession to get younger, including this constant bug in my ear named Lou who was telling me to get younger haha. I had solid offers for young guys but too many were locked up on max or near max deals that I wasn't sure were justified so I didn't pull the trigger on those deals.

And an FYI, I wasn't upset about the playoff loss. I was planning a shake up in my mind before playoffs started haha. I was ecstatic to get out of round 1 after back to back years of 1st round losses even after securing a top seed.

I'll have questions for the next podcast for sure. I live what I've seen so far. I wish I had a computer so I could get in on this. I found myself talking out loud in rebuttle to your trade analysis haha. I'd love to make a special guest appearance one week  ;D

Listened to 'em both, well done guys. Interesting commentary all over the board - a great add to the league.
Re. comments about my team: namely, how I was peddling Wu around before and the contracts and ages of my best guys. I kinda agree with Jeff....I wouldn't mind hopping on there to describe my thought processes.
I got to the point where I had to decide if I was going for it, and how was I going to do it. First off, I'd rather win than not. I'm pretty good at covering my bases. I had youth I hoped would develop behind them to ease their transition from 'aging useful' to 'aging declining' - the guys in the background just didn't develop into more reliable, productive guys. Secondly, yes, my big two/three they have big contracts, but I have cheap ones to balance it out, and I don't mind paying for one of the best backcourts in the league. Once you're over the soft cap, from a competitiveness standpoint, it's relatively immaterial. Wu, on the other hand, was available yes....but necessity is the mother of invention and he moved into the 3 spot just fine.
No sense being afraid of spending the dollars and having veteran players if they can play. The two biggest 'decline concerns' just had insane seasons - and if they did have any decline, it was negligible. If they decline more this year, I can slide them to the bench and have one or two more 6MOY candidates. Gotta keep the options open.

Happy to have people come on and explain their reasoning. Just shoot me a day you're available and we can do some guest appearances or something.

Also, I'm trying to come up with TBD, but would appreciate some suggestions. I'm in charge of the bank but since I'm essentially giving myself money I'd like some suggetions. I was thinking trying to make it similar to articles - somewhere around 300-400 for the hosts (we put at least an hour of prep in, with selecting questions/doing research/setting order, etc., and then a 60-90 minute show, which is about equivalent the time invested in writing a long article). I'm honestly lost on the question submitting. I agree iwth Lou that it should be rewarded - I see it as most similar to the trade analysis that Jeff started last season that I've been giving somewhere between $20-$50 for, depending on the detail/etc. Does that sound about right to people? 

i dont think it should get more than the max that an article gets which i believe is $200 ( i understand that its more work than an article, but i think that there should be an upper limit on what people can earn, otherwise it will throw the balance off)

Participation like this is great, but I dont think it should be done for an amount that has a huge benefit to your team.  A small benefit is fair though.

i would say that anyone who participated with questions should get a flat amount (around $25-$40)

The TBD maxes changed awhile back, but I think that if you guys are going to do this regularly you should open it up for others to get in on it outside of the chat.

I've given out $400 for really big articles before, and apparently other people in charge of banks regularly gave 400-500 for huge articles.

Yeah, it has to be like a big power rankings or a really in depth article. I've given them out for my two-page power rankings and I'd do the same for others too. The "standard" article still generally receives 200-300, it's the really long/time-consuming ones that I give extra to. Basically, you could write a bunch of short articles that each get $200 or you can write a really big one; the big one should get more than just $200. I dunno - go back through the articles and see what I've awarded. "standard" is still $200 or so, but a large time commitment/detail/etc. usually is more.

I think your evaluations are always fair... focusing on time/effort spent.  Big-time articles and especially podcats should be awarded accordingly as they also add a huge boost to the league.

Ok, after some discussion/evaluation, I think I'm going to go with $300-400 for Lou and I (and any guests that join us for a week guest spot or whatever), depending on the length of the podcast, and $25 tbd for participants (so I don't get into "well, this guy had 2 great questions, and that guy had 4 decent questions, and..." and try to figure out what it's all worth). To me, participants are people who actively contribute to the discussion or have good questions. You can't just write one so-so question and get $25 TBD. I'd like to see some effort. If anyone has any further comments/suggestions about the TBD, please let me know. I'm honestly trying to be as fair as possible about this. I think this is a neat, unique contribution to the league that has increased activity and should be rewarded, from the hosts on down to the guys who have written in great questions that keep the discussion interesting!

So, if you'd like to be a guest, please let me know. Skype is required, and it starts on Wednesdays at 8 pm EST. I don't want to have more than 1 guest on a week, as I think that would probably be chaotic.

Im not a big Jimmer fan..

First off his defense is B- where you plan on playing him. His %s were nice yes, if he keeps them up then awesome for you.

My initial thought was just that with Davis, Favors, Maxwell.. A scorer wouldnt have been the best fit. Especially another 3ish TOPG to add to the couple you already had.

Bad is a strong word, I just didn't think he fit well and without the time to really look it up I kind of just used my words on the fly. See you in the playoffs dude.

He can always plays jimmer at pg and maxwell at te two. I dont think there would be a problem to his defense. I think favors' turnover number is something that should be looked at though. The hornets have had an extremely strong team for the past years, but i think favor's to is what has been pulling his team down and probably why its not living up to expectations.

I had to try very hard to conceal my fond thoughts about you, believe you me....but for the most part, the questions were abit more pointed to other topics. I would have liked to talk about win-cycles and my thoughts on various team's approaches, but it didn't really come up.

I can make it three way whenever. It's the going back and forth between it that's sort of a pain in the ass. But if there was a WEEKLY third person it'd be fine. So far I have had very little interest in a guest spot.

Ok I'll finally answer the question about the fantasy draft. We can all do DC's and post them and have guys vote and crown a best team. However, what I originally wanted was to get it simmed because we all know that a good team on paper doesn't instantly translate into a good team in real life. So basically it would be a bragging rights vote unless Lou took one night to make all our teams and sim a season. But that's up to him. But tomorrow I'll open up a new thread where we can all post our DCs for our fantasy teams.

Also, Lou you were correct that I used to work Campus Security. Just for everyone's amusement, I now work as a Provincial Offense Officer, which is a nice way of saying I'm a meter man. I hand out parking tickets for a living now. For how much time I waste on here and watching podcasts, I still manage to make the city of London a good dollar haha.

I'm excited to get a laptop so I can join you fuckers as a guest host one week. Oh and btw, there's tons of guys left on my team for teams to go after come trade deadline. Mason Richmond is averaging 7ppg, 9rpg, and 2bpg in like 28mpg. He won't score a ton, but he's a high level defender and very solid rebounder who could give more than a few teams added depth up front....just saying  :)

Just wondering, when you hand out parking tickets, do you get a percentage on the total amount they pay? Here, the traffic enforcers do get commissions but we usually just bribe them to save us all the hassle. lol

Not many ppl believe us but no we don't get commission from any parking tickets.
Although I gave a guy a $25 parking ticket once and he offered me $50 to tear up the ticket. I was like why don't you just use that $50 to pay the ticket off and you'll still have $25 left over. I'm pretty sure this guy was American too  :D

True story: I parked in downtown Toronto once on a side street (ie not a busy road) and came out from an interview about 5 minutes late. A meter maid was just writing up a ticket as I walked up to my car.
He was like "Is this your car?"  I said "Yeah, but come on I only late for a few minutes"

He finished writing the ticket (slowly), slipped the ticket under my wiper then walked away with the doucheist smirk EVAR. I swear it was the closest I've gotten to fuckin' throwing a body shot outside of sparring. Just the rudeness and audacity of that asshole.

And don't get me started on getting my car towed after a night at the club.. Grizz was there..  :-\

I parked in front of a computer store like 8 years ago just to literally pick up one thing.. I was probably in there about 2 to 3 minutes, I come out and the guy is writing me a ticket.. I asked him if there was anything I could do at all to not get the ticket and he said no, so then I just told him to suck my dick and get a real job.. best 35 I ever spent.

Haha I love these stories. Honestly, I guarantee that most likely, someone fucked with the meter maid right before each of you got tickets lol. I know speaking from personal experience, I'll let everyone go if they are polite to me and aren't parked in a handicap spot with no permit (that's the only thing I have zero tolerance for). But I know when someone has ripped on me for 5 minutes after I gave them a ticket, I'm usually still pissed and tend to be less likely to give the next person a break lol.
It sucks, but that's reality I guess. I'm usually pretty good at letting shit roll off my back, but I work with a few guys who carry one bad incident with them for the entire day and just take it out on every other person, when normally if they were in a good mood, they'd let that person go.
The other thing could be that they work on commission. I don't make a dime so I could care less if I hand out one ticket a day or 50 tickets. But let's be honest, money talks, and if there's commission, I'm sure not too many people are gonna pass up the chance to make extra coin.
