Accepted.  Pelicans assume '64 swap option on Rockets pick (can swap with Jazz).  Also, '65 Rockets 1st is FC.

5 picks is a lot to try and make something happen with.  Lots of spray and pray.

No way you can blame either team. Make-or-break type of trade here.

Big haul...I'd like to see KCP haul in 5 picks as a comparison. Ultimately will be a win-win, but I think the Pelicans get grab 2-3 pieces with the picks as opposed to having 1 whale, opens up trading options as well as the necessary rebuilding pieces. Pelicans also owns their pick this year in a strong draft and this makes them worse this season...also helps with Elfrid Payton out for 30 days. On the other end...the rockets already have strong pieces and really just give up picks here while technically getting a young star to retool around as their guys age. Ultimately 4 mid-late picks would have been probably an "even" swap, the 5th pick tips this into Pelicans favor.

Good point. This could "set the table," so to speak, for some moves to come. I expect some more teams to bail with the emergence of the Hawks and Jazz, along with the other contenders running shit right now.

It's quite different to see a rookie (albeit a top 5 pick) traded for such a haul, but that's the East right now. Terrifying up top with the rest reloading & hiding from the crossfire.

Soooo, here's an issue...Celtics traded me his '64 1st in the Biasone deal. I had no clue it was already owned by Houston and he must've forgotten.

Rockets owned it before I did, so how will this work? Will I be owed Boston's '65 pick instead?

I tried, and offered much more than this.  I've gauged the value of these picks and they just didn't have much.  Certainly, 5 1sts create some buzz and they mean something as a group.  But, I couldn't peddle last year's midlevel and low 1sts for anything other than cash.  I'd rather risk bundling them all while they still have value than waiting.

Id say the value of 5 picks nowhere near the lottery is not the crazy good package it seems.

Yeah, KCP had offers of more than 4 picks, but they were all pretty late picks...as Pacers says.  Would much prefer a decent pick or two or a solid prospect than two late as shit picks.

You get it, Craig gets it, I get it, a bunch will....but the precedent will linger making many future trade discussions a pain in the ass.

I don't think there's ever been a trade of five picks for one guy.

The best part is that Craig gave up the 5 picks to play him right now at backup PF lol
The picks seem to be mostly, if not all, projected late 1sts.

Celtics 64 1st should go from the Suns to the Pelicans.
