Wow. Solid value here for Pistons, big move for Bulls. Great trade.

This draft is stacked at the top. Two potential top-five picks coming to DET.

Chicago gets a stud. Hopefully Holman can hold onto that B- defense and not drop to the dreaded C+ and scare the village folk away.

It's a fair trade for Bulls but a huge homerun value for Pistons. Gets his pick back and transforms it into a likely top 5 in a great draft. Unfortunately thanks to his stellar predecessor he's out next year's pick, but maybe this draft is good enough that it's a one year reload after adding two top 5 guys.

Not sure I like the timing of this buy-in for Bulls, but if you're going to buy anyone Holman is a good pick.

To be clear - I like it for both teams, but agree that Pistons got a great haul.  Not an "unfair" haul, but a lot of times when bad teams are selling they don't get what they should for their stars.  Holman is a stud and this immediately makes the Bulls at least a playoff team (and maybe more), so giving up 2 great picks is worth it.  Good for the Pistons, though - with those picks he'll be well on his way to a solid rebuild.

Forget the picks, people are way too obsessed about draft picks. Good on you Bulls for getting a 27 ppg scorer.

Devil's Advocate: What's the difference between Muhammad and Holman besides that +1 defense?

Better passer, much better rebounder, 5 years younger, locked up long term.

Scoring is the same, defense is negligible.
