Not trying to be a douche, but I know in the past we have stuck closely to the rules as to avoid promoting "bending" the rules in certain circumstances. I know recently the Grizz were about 30mins or so late with a draft pick and his pick was CPU'd and we stuck with the CPU pick for that reason.
I personally don't give a shit, but I think based on past examples, we have always stuck to the deadlines.

Exactly. Again, nothing against the Pacers because he is a quality GM in this league. But like Chris said, it makes it tough to enforce deadlines in the future if a precedent is set by bending the rules once.
