if you had a 1st round pick and the guy turned into a Mitchell or Maravich, you'd be happy, you'd be happier if you knew that you didn't have to wait 3 years for them to be Mitchell or Maravich....With Kamens/Olowokandi's age, I needed some young centers...tough to draft centers without a top 10 pick. I don't expect to have a top 10 pick any time soon, and so I see this as Olowokandi for Mitchell, and 2067 1st round pick for Maravich...I don't foresee the option being an issue for me, but this deal doesn't get done without the option in the first place. I also get rid of Achterberg's contract...ultimately his production is fool's gold. And at worse case scenario I'd rather pay Mitchell his contract than Achterberg his....especially given that I have Favre/Davis. Ultimately, I feel it's a fair swap.
