I'm happy with the deal & made it extremely clear that I was looking to make a move.

I'm extremely happy to get Sean Garrett & think he has something. Otto Porter is a solid player & has defense that I need. Hopefully Marvin stays around a little longer.

Edit: Age was a factor in this for me as well (with the exception of Dial). Barnes is a little past his prime and I've seen Colliton rule on defense before. This year, his blocks have gone down 1+ per game. Also, maybe the 2066 2nd will be a real draft? Idk how/where that falls.

Definitely a good deal for the Blazers, though.

For me...trying to make a bit of a run.

I lost patience with Garrett, as he's regressed every training camp. He looked like a stud early on...hopefully he can turn it around for the Wiz.

I get a little bit of an upgrade at Small Forward, and get a nice shotblocker to come off the bench behind Adams and Stoudemire.

Great deal for Blazers. Guess Wiz figured he wasn't going anywhere fast and may as well get younger but this is great value for Blazers.

This deal isn't really overly lopsided IMO.
Barnes and Colliton are solid guys immediately, but Barnes has shown he's started regressing with his age. Plus he's got a heavy 25mil next year too at age 34. Don't get me wrong, he's the best player in the deal, but likely has 1-2 years left. Colliton will be a nice super sub but is a below average rebounding big man and his BPG have dipped. But he will be nice off the bench.

Both Porter and Garrett are considerably younger. Porter might be a guy who what you see is what you get from here on out, but he's a nice defensive wing player who is capable of a very nice 7rpg from the SF spot.
Garrett has show he can score, and is young enough that with a halfway decent TC he could get back to being a very solid 2nd option.

Overall it's a solid deal both ways I think. Blazers get what they need for this year and next year and Wiz get younger moving forward.

I also don't think it's as lopsided a deal as people are making it out to be, but the Wizards certainly get weaker in the short-term, which is all I really care about as the owner of their 1st in next year's draft.

Another thing I was looking at is that (understandably) Garrett is behind Stoudamire, Adams, & even Plumlee has more minutes. Porter put up 18.9 PPG before and hasn't regressed, he just has McDyess, Stoudamire and Adams getting most of the looks. Love Otto's defensive ability along with his offensive efficiency & rebounding.

The moral of the story here for me is what the hell am I going to get for Barnes and Colliton when (like Jeff said) Barnes is putting up fewer numbers on a fat contract & Colliton fades?
