It's fine this time.  Just pre-empting the inevitable signing of good player who was cut for salary reasons being extended in the future. 

I...totally agree that this *should* be the rule, but it didn't officially make it into the rulebook.  Will fix for next season. 

I just bumped the thread.  I agree that this should be the rule but we need to be clear.
