Just for everyone's amusement, I now work as a Provincial Offense Officer, which is a nice way of saying I'm a meter man. I hand out parking tickets for a living now.
Fuckin' meter maid  I hate you people with a vengeance!  True story: I parked in downtown Toronto once on a side street (ie not a busy road) and came out from an interview about 5 minutes late. A meter maid was just writing up a ticket as I walked up to my car. He was like "Is this your car?" I said "Yeah, but come on I only late for a few minutes" He finished writing the ticket (slowly), slipped the ticket under my wiper then walked away with the doucheist smirk EVAR. I swear it was the closest I've gotten to fuckin' throwing a body shot outside of sparring. Just the rudeness and audacity of that asshole. And don't get me started on getting my car towed after a night at the club.. Grizz was there..  |

I parked in front of a computer store like 8 years ago just to literally pick up one thing.. I was probably in there about 2 to 3 minutes, I come out and the guy is writing me a ticket.. I asked him if there was anything I could do at all to not get the ticket and he said no, so then I just told him to suck my dick and get a real job.. best 35 I ever spent.

Haha I love these stories. Honestly, I guarantee that most likely, someone fucked with the meter maid right before each of you got tickets lol. I know speaking from personal experience, I'll let everyone go if they are polite to me and aren't parked in a handicap spot with no permit (that's the only thing I have zero tolerance for). But I know when someone has ripped on me for 5 minutes after I gave them a ticket, I'm usually still pissed and tend to be less likely to give the next person a break lol.
It sucks, but that's reality I guess. I'm usually pretty good at letting shit roll off my back, but I work with a few guys who carry one bad incident with them for the entire day and just take it out on every other person, when normally if they were in a good mood, they'd let that person go.
The other thing could be that they work on commission. I don't make a dime so I could care less if I hand out one ticket a day or 50 tickets. But let's be honest, money talks, and if there's commission, I'm sure not too many people are gonna pass up the chance to make extra coin.
